marathon des sables
March 30, 2011:
Everything is ready to participate in the 26th edition of the Sables Marathon, the toughest self-sufficiency desert race on the planet. During 6 days we will be traveling more than 200km through the Moroccan desert carrying a backpack with all our belongings (about 10kg: food, clothes, first-aid kit, bag, ...). The area where we will move will be south of Er Rachidia and Ouarzazate (east of Marraquech). The temperatures will already be hot early in the morning and the terrain that we will find will be diverse, from the pure dune, passing through dry rivers, stones, mountainous reliefs and the occasional wooded area, with palm trees or with small vegetation. For 6 days we will have to ration food, strength and take care of our feet to the extreme. We will be taking care of every detail so that the body reaches the end in the best conditions. The stages are secret until before starting, but as is common, a marathon is done daily, except on the 4th day when a double marathon is done. The harshness of the desert awaits us and the desire to know an inhospitable terrain, different from the one we are used to and at the same time so wild, has us already very impatient...

12 August 2011
This Sunday I died, metaphorically speaking, a vertical km from the La Molina ski resort to Tossa d’Alp, at an altitude of 2500m, almost na ...The exits were given every 30 seconds and just starting there was already a small wall on a path of the bike park circuit.
When I had already been in agony for more than 30 minutes, seeing the heels of my most direct rival, Alba Xandri and imagining Oihana already at light hours, ... it gave me a drop, in height, fatigue, heavy legs, ... that I could not overtake and kept the pace but not accelerating as I would have liked. I pulled out my teeth but without biting .....
